Personalised Annual Blood Testing
We have expanded our analytics capability to now include data results from annual blood testing.
Historically, blood testing has been done in consultation with your doctor either for a perceived condition or one that is being treated. MyHealth provides personalised healthcare so our approach is very different and testing is done on otherwise healthy people so why would you bother to do it?
For many reasons but the most important one, is to build a profile of your body chemistry over a period of time that can lead to the early identification of markers for chronic disease.
With this information and our other comprehensive analytics you are then equipped to understand and proactively manage your health and build good nutrition and exercise habits that should ensure a lifetime of good health.
Very few diseases occur overnight, in fact less than 1%, so the lifestyle diseases we get happen over a long period of time. For example, a typical diabetes T2 profile might start to develop 5 or 6 years before onset and intervention. This is often the same for cardiovascular disease, obesity and some cancers including liver cancer so it makes sense to have an active profile.
There are over 2200 available blood tests available and it would not only be highly impractical to conduct these on an individual - volume of blood required and cost – but in the vast majority of cases it would not provide any meaningful results.
So we have taken a different approach. An individual’s unique bio-markers and other factors influence the tests that are done – no individual is the same - so the types of tests will never be the same from year to year.
We base our logic on:
• The numerous individual bio-markers that are being collected daily and analysed
• Age, gender and ethnicity
• Identified trends from past testing
• Family and personal health history
This approach is a significant step forward in the value of personalised healthcare and has the potential to change the existing approach to blood testing across our population.
