For the period ending 11 May 2016
Listed companies make up a strong contingent of this fortnight’s hottest startups and tech companies, with the top five spots all taken by ASX listed or soon to be listed companies.
Stem cell tech Cynata Therapeutics is our top trending company, with a Japanese patent granted and a licence agreement signed with a German distributor worth potentially up to $100m, resulting in share price growth and press and social media traction.
Second ranked Shark Mitigation Systems had a strong first day on the ASX, generating strong national media coverage in the process.
Intelligent hearing device maker Nuheara is still midway through a very successful crowd-funding campaign, and is ranked third off the back of good press coverage and social media engagement.
Data storage and visualisation company Pointerra picked up two nominations from our panel of experts and is ranked fourth. Pointerra and fifth-ranked Cycliq are the only unlisted companies in the top five, though Pointerra is well advanced in its reverse takeover of Soil Sub Technologies and this week Cycliq announced its plan to also list through a reverse takeover. The bike camera maker featured on 9News and continues to see strong social media engagement.
Here is Techboard’s latest startup ranking for the period ending 11 May 2016.
