Executive, entrepreneur and venture capitalist with over 30 years of experience. My career spans from general management of small to mid mid size organisations, to corporate law, product development, business development, and strategy across a variety of industries such as telco, energy and technology. Currently CEO and Managing Director of amaysim Australia, ASX-listed mobile phone services and energy provider. Peter was one of the founders of amaysim in 2010, and board member since leading the company as its CEO. Peter has held senior executive and board roles at Optus Communications, BellSouth, eircom (Ireland’s national carrier) and Meteor (Irish mobile operator). He is the founder of Hargrave Consultants, a boutique advisory business in telecommunications and technology, and was previously a partner at major Australian law firms Minter Ellison and Gilbert & Tobin. Peter was part of the formation of Optus and Australian Telecommunications reform and has served on a number of boards for private and public companies. In one of his first entrepreneurial ventures Peter co-founded The Chic Group in 1992, managing the careers of some of the world′s leading names in modelling, and leading names in Australian sport, television, movies and theatre. Peter has maintained an active venture capital portfolio of private investments in digital technology, fashion services and production, consulting, telecommunications and energy. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Sydney and an LLB Bachelor of Law from Australian National University. In his spare time, he enjoys writing and song writing and he often participates in bouts of very bad solo guitar playing. His passion for skiing and walking is a welcome balance to his corporate life.
