Stelect's vision is to influence behavioural change towards accurate stent selection by becoming a standard of PCI procedures worldwide to ensure life changing decisions are based on fact, not guess work.

Over 18 million cardiac stents are inserted into patients every year, with cardiologists most commonly 'eyeballing' the required stent size to treat each patient. This method has inaccuracy rates of over 70%. The inaccuracy in the current method has led to increases in patient readmission rates, additional stents/procedures and increases in mortality contributing to an economic burden of over $2.125 Billion Dollars in the US alone. The Stelect device aims to address this, by producing accurate length and diameter measurements of the coronary blockage to aid clinicians in making a more informed stent selection.

The Stelect device has the support of interventional cardiologists around the globe and has already shown signs of success, through winning Med Tech's Got Talent and gaining entry into The Actuator, Australia's national MedTech accelerator.
