Plantic Technologies, a Kuraray group company since 2015, manufactures high-barrier bioplastic resins and films for food, industrial and pharmaceutical packaging. Our proprietary corn-based polymer is designed to extend shelf life, reduce food waste and lower the carbon footprint of packaging structures.
Unlike conventional bioplastics whose polymers are produced in petrochemical refineries, Plantic's polymer is grown in the field from non-GMO corn. The result is measurable performance for converters and brand owners, with sustainability credentials including EN 13432 (Plantic R1 and HP1), FDA approval, BPI accreditation in North America, and AIB-Vinçotte and Din-Certco certification in Europe.
Applications include modified atmosphere packaging for fresh and processed meats, ready meal trays, dairy, bakery, seafood, pet food, and pharmaceutical blister packaging. Our materials are validated by leading global brand owners and supermarkets across Australia, North America and Europe.
