Industrial carbon feedstock inputs are responsible for a massive 6% of total global greenhouse emissions. Near zero industrial futures are emerging, cleaner and lower emissions industrial technologies are developing fast. But how do you replace fossil fuel industrial and chemical feedstocks with cost effective and low emissions alternatives to tackle Scope 3 and 4 targets? Meanwhile, the world is in a food and post-harvest waste crisis, which contributes around 6% of total greenhouse emissions as well.

Field to Foundry is taking a circular economy informed approach to tackle both problems together, using an unique biotech process to make high quality aromatic carbon feedstocks for chemical, industrial and agricultural use from waste that would otherwise go to landfill. Instead of pyrolytic sourced carbon feedstocks like biochars which, while often touted as climate friendly, also use huge amounts of heat energy to make and produce significant C02, methane and ethylene emissions, we are harnessing nature’s biological carbon and nitrogen cycling systems to solve these very human problems using a low cost, low energy and emissions negative methodology.
