| Elevator Pitch: | OUR VISION In 2008 Matt Beard, our CEO, and a small group of friends and family wanted to travel to Nepal. They had their wishlist of what they wanted to see and do but none of the off-the-shelf package tours they looked at had what they wanted. They were also not keen to join a larger group of people they didn't know, so they decided to build their trip from scratch working with a local expert in Nepal. Matt had worked in the travel industry for many years so luckily knew a very good local travel expert to reach out to. The result was a personalised trip full of trekking, national park excursions, white water rafting and cultural visits. They had an amazing time and still talk about it to this day! The takeaway for Matt was that the magic happened because they managed to combine their wishlist with expert local knowledge. The possibilities, if you could find an innovative and low cost way to connect travellers directly to local experts to craft these personalised travel experiences, were limitless. This would be a whole new way to travel. One which was traveller centric, decentralised, offering infinite choice and total pricing freedom. A business built around a traveller mindset. The vision was set. OUR TEAM In 2016 Matt reached out to Len Cordiner, now COO of Tripfuser, who was an experienced travel industry colleague and founder of the WHL Group. They began to develop a new peer to peer platform to deliver on their vision. In turn they brought in others from the WHL Group; Andre Franchini (Tripfuser CPO), Tuan Nguyen (Tripfuser CTO) and Adrian Cordiner, founder of Digital Rhinos and CMO for Tripfuser. Nigel Abbot, the CEO of Rippling Media and another veteran of the travel industry joined the team in 2017 to head up the digital media initiative. On June 30, 2017, Tripfuser was launched. The company is based in Melbourne, Australia, with a team of collaborators working from offices in Sydney, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Sharing the vision and working with us to develop the Tripfuser offering are a number of great companies. |
