Innovation and ICT Minister Dave Kelly has today announced KinChip Systems as one of six successful recipients of innovation grants worth $430,000 in total, provided through the McGowan Government's $16.7 million New Industries Fund.
The matched funding grant will see KinChip Systems and Kalparrin collaborate in the development of machine learning technologies to provide personalised support recommendations for families of children recently diagnosed with health or developmental challenges.
âThis innovative project will enable Kalparrin to connect parents caring for children with disabilities to the right supports at any time of day and night.â Carrie Clark, Kalparrin CEO.
Kalparrin is WAâs largest community of families caring for children with disability and medical conditions. Based at Perth Childrenâs Hospital they connect families to the right supports and to other families.

In a great example of cross sector collaboration, the project combines KinChip Systemsâ expertise in developing digital technologies to support child development outcomes and Kalparrinâs nearly 30 years of supporting families.
The New Industries Fund program allows for government to collaborate with the private sector and leverage their expertise to support innovative job creating projects. Successful applicants were recommended by an independent evaluation panel comprised of industry experts
