Major announcement about BikeBookings and 99 Bikes in Bicycling Trade
We extremely excited to announce that 99 Bikes are going to use BikeBookings as their prefered workshop management system. Here is the article posted on the Bicycle Trade magazine site.
"You may recall that last year we wrote about Perth based software solutions provider BikeBookings.com
Time flies and itâs already approaching a year since BikeBookings launched their sophisticated software solution designed to make the bicycle workshop booking and customer interaction processes not only more efficient but also more user friendly for both customers and workshop staff alike.
âWeâve been developing our software solution for more than three years but weâve only been live since 1st June 2016,â recalled BikeBookings co-founder and CEO Kristen Britz.
âIn less than a year since that date weâve had well over 10,000 bike service bookings made through the BikeBookings system by customers of the various bike shops that have adopted BikeBookings.
âWeâve had over three million APIâs (application process interface) to our server. Thatâs how many times our server has been pinged asking for information. Weâve also sent out over 20,000 SMS messages on behalf of our client shops.â
On the horizon for BikeBookings is major expansion overseas along with continuous improvement of their software solution.
âWeâre currently in discussions with a leading bike shop solution provider in the USA to white label our solution for the 900 bike shops that they service,â Kristen revealed.
âWeâve also rolled out improvements and updates on a monthly basis since our launch last June. All of them are designed to help our clientâs workshops become more efficient and give them a better solution based on feedback we have received.
âFor example our CRM (customer relationship management) features now allow shops to set their own rules, for example if they want to implement an automatic SMS 120 days after a bike service to say to the customer, âHey Joe, you havenât had your bike serviced for a while! Please click on this link to book in automatically.â Or whatever wording the bike shop wants to use.
âShops like the fact that all of our messaging systems can be personalised. The customer doesnât just get a message saying âDear Customer,â they get a message saying, âHi Joe, youâre due for a service on your Merida.â
âWeâve made it simple for the shops to make the booking system available to their customers.
âWe find that shops use our system for about a month in their workshop just until they get comfortable using it and reassured about its reliability. Then they start advertising to their customers that they can book in for their next service via our app or via a link on their website.â
As well as Australia, BikeBookings has now had enquiries or signed agreements with shops in America, New Zealand and South Africa.
Kristen continued, âWeâre taking it slow, but weâre putting back into cycling already. Weâre sponsoring a leading local WA womenâs cycling team that we hope will go to the NRS (National Road Series) level next year.
âWe definitely want to help the brick and mortar shops survive and not be strangled by online businesses.â
In a major coup for BikeBookings, Australiaâs largest specialist retail bike store chain 99Bikes has just come on board.
âWe commenced discussions in Matt Turner, co-founder of 99 Bikes, late last year,â said Kristen. âWe gave them a demonstration and spoke to his operations team.
âThey agreed to trial BikeBookings in three of their Brisbane stores. These have been going on for the past two months.
âTheir feedback has been good. Theyâve now agreed to sign up all 33 of their shops to use the BikeBookings system.
âWe have âwhite labelledâ our solution for them so itâs rebranded it with their colours and also created an app for 99 Bikes which lists all their bike shops.
âWeâve been working with 99 Bikes throughout the trial period on minor tweaks and improvements and weâve added this functionality, not only to their system but to our main system thatâs available to all bike shops.
âFor example 99 Bikes likes to collect more information when the booking is made for example pre-authorisation for a certain level of repair cost and provision for the club discount scheme.
âBikeBookings will also be taking over their SMS messaging solution, which is built into the current workshop solution, both on a shop level and at a central management level.
Weâve reached a three year agreement starting 1st May 2017 at an agreed price and commitment level that includes future development and all new shops that theyâll open in that time.
"Our purpose is to help bike shops. We want them to succeed, our pricing reflects that and as we increase things like SMS volume and we are able to pass on discounts to all our customers we will do that."
BikeBookings charges only $50 per month per shop, inclusive of SMS costs. More information can be found at bikebookings.com or contact [email protected]"
