The West Tech Fest Startup Challenge (formerly OzAPP Awards) brings together Asia Pacific’s hottest early stage startups for a live on-stage battle in front of global investors.The influential audience includes angels, VCs, tech tech leaders and media.
The Competition is OPEN TO ALL STARTUPS FROM ACROSS AUSTRALIA AND ASIA PACIFIC REGION.
Initiated by Curtin University, and co-founded by Bill Tai, Larry Lopez, Rohan McDougall and Paula Taylor, the competition brings together innovators, researchers, investors and industry and further strengthens the Australian startup ecosystem.
The West Tech Fest attracts founders, tech entrepreneurs and investors from the US, UK, Asia and from around Australia sharing insights on building great companies.
Over the last six years the programme has built a strong global network and profile, with many successful investment outcomes.
The final judging is held in Perth, Western Australia as part of the West Tech Fest – a week long festival featuring inspiring keynote speakers, networking events, pitching opportunities, mentoring sessions, hackathons and student workshops.
The Top 5 finalists of the Startup Challenge are flown to Perth to pitch in front the West Tech Fest audience to leading VC’s, tech leaders and industry heavyweights.
The winner receives an invitation to pitch to the judges of the Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) judges at CES Las Vegas: during the semi-finals at CES in Las Vegas in January 2018 (an economy flight to Las Vegas will be provided). Other prizes will be announced over the coming weeks.
