MIDAS stands for Minerals Industry Data Analytics Service.

MIDAS Tech originally focused on providing software for mineral processing. This software includes:

Mass Balancing
Simulation
Inference
Optimisation.
Flowsheeting
Over time the applications developed became more dependent on Excel/VBA; although also linked to Visio and Access.

MIDAS Tech’s flagship activity is the development of machine learning algorithms for mineral processing. Due to customer interest and natural evolution, MIDAS Tech also provides courses in mineral processing and Excel.

It became apparent that many of the software applications developed for mineral processing could be adapted to many other applications – and this resulted in the development of a general Excel flowsheet simulation system – also called a process modelling system.
