Perth, WA 16 January 2017: WA based startup Tap into Safety has appointed key sales staff on the East Coast as part of the 2018 growth plan supported by the $750,000 investment from new investor Dorado Capital. This is the first step in scaling the company nationally with plans to move internationally in 2019.
Tap into Safety has been working with Perth based customers as well as serving firms on the East Coast at a distance since launching in June 2014. The company provides safety and early intervention mental health training and assessment via interactive software solutions. The appointment of the Business Development Managers in Sydney and Melbourne provides improved presence and support for the growing east Coast customer base.
âWe are really excited about expanding on the East Coast and providing a real person for our customers rather than the previous situation of selling online and remotely from the Perth Head Office.â said Dr Susanne Bahn, CEO and Co-Founder.
âWe see both appointments as critical to growing the business; gearing up to international expansion in 2019. Our customers already love our solutions but we know we can now offer them more as Tap into Safety grows and expands into new marketsâ Dr Bahn added.
Kerry Weavers will service NSW, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory and comes to the company with a wealth of sales and business development experience. He has worked with large corporates, selling and supporting corporate software. Shane Herft will service Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Shane has had experience running his own successful business that led to a trade sale 5 years ago and since then has worked for multinational organisations selling software solutions. He understands the challenges of the start-up world as well as solving customer problems and providing excellent service.
Kerry and Shane will provide sales expertise for the companyâs two signature software solutions: Hazard Insight and All of Me. The safety product, Hazard Insight, utilises 360 degree panoramic scenes of high-risk work areas underpinned by gamification techniques and adult learning principles to train hazard identification.
Additionally, Tap into Safetyâs mental health product, All of Me, provides animated refresher training on topics that impact mental health in the workplace, a âone clickâ help connection facility and predictive analytics to show any staff in early mental health decline. Both solutions provide 15 minute learning pieces delivered both by smart devices and online.
âThis is a brilliant opportunity to really expand and connect with key business on the Eastern seaboardâ said Shane Herft, Tap into Safety BDM. âIâm excited to be working for Tap into Safety. Through my knowledge of IT, I always put myself working with those I believe are best in fieldâ added Kerry Weavers.
These key appointments mean that Tap into Safety can focus on growing the business to extend into the Sydney and Melbourne markets. This will ensure it adds to the already impressive client list, which includes; Lendlease, Samsung C&T, CPB Contractors, John Holland, Sodexo and Chandler Macleod Group.

The safety training solution uses our signature 360/180 degree panoramic scenarios to deliver a 'walk through' of the users workplace that they work within to learn about how to work safely in their environment. We also draw on gaming techniques, animation, images and audio to deliver engaging training that has seen our customers achieve a drop in their workplace injury rates by at least 10%.
Our early intervention mental health solution that has been designed for business to provide training on topics that impact mental health, e.g. change and burnout. IEmployees are 'one click' away from help and support. Data shows business staff groups in early mental health decline. This information has not been made available to business in the past and using this data they can tailor their well-being programmes to those who need it most.
Both solutions produce comprehensive visual reports to show the gaps in safety knowledge and the users who are experiencing issues with their wellbeing. The platform is cost effective and suited to meet the budgetary constraints of all businesses as it is supported by a per use credit model with no lock in contracts, annual license or subscription fees.
