Stuck is jump-starting membership free roadside assistance with a new on-demand service, which sends local pre-approved tyre, battery and automotive experts to the rescue when drivers get stuck.
The Stuck app scraps the need for annual memberships and provides pay-as-you-go, on-demand roadside assistance services from your smartphone.
“We’re tearing up the old subscription-based annual-fee model that has been around for almost 100 years,” Stuck co-founder Greg Brown said.
The Stuck team realised that millions of Aussies were getting stuck on the side of the road, simply because they chose not to pay for an annual insurance-style roadside assistance product.
Worse still, if they couldn’t afford an expensive membership, they were left to the mercy of unchecked operators or unreliable mates.
“Over 4 million Australians get stuck on the side of the road each year without a roadside assistance cover. They either have to rely on friends and family, or Google, to find help,” Mr Brown said.
“We believe getting help should be effortless, and you shouldn’t be slugged a premium for it,” he added.
“Stuck is building a vast network of accredited, professional and local experts who are ready to help with fast, affordable roadside assistance when you need it.
“The savings are passed on to motorists, with the Stuck call-out fee costing just over half an average annual roadside assistance membership.
“The important thing is you only pay when you need help and not each and every year whether you need it or not.
“When we talk to local auto experts, there is plenty of interest amongst battery, tyre, tow and mechanical businesses who are established and trusted in their local areas.
“We couldn’t be more excited to start connecting drivers with automotive experts in their local area via a simple, free app,” Mr Brown concluded.
Anyone with technical automotive certifications can apply to be a Stuck Expert, and the team is currently signing up local businesses such as tyre, battery, tow and fuel providers. Stuck Experts are fully vetted with police checks and professional insurance.
The Stuck app is launching soon – people who register at stuck.com.au before November will receive a special early adopters discount. Automotive suppliers can sign up at stuck.com.au/supplier
