After four years of significant growth in transforming the organisational processes of schools worldwide, ParentPaperwork has taken the biggest leap yet – the change into a new brand, EdSmart (part of the Cloud Paper Group); a change designed to reflect the full capability and scope of the company’s School Organisation System (SOS).
“It made sense to have a new look & feel to reflect our development into a refined, personalised, easy and efficient method of routing workflows, collecting data and managing the administration between schools and of all their stakeholders,” says Fiona Boyd, CEO, EdSmart. “We’ve developed into so much more than just a piece of software for parent forms – we’re a complete and integratable administration solution that helps schools run smarter.”
ParentPaperwork emerged on the international edtech scene in 2014 with a mission to turn schools across the globe into paperless environments. Founders David Eedle and Fiona Boyd recognised the opportunity after clocking the amount of paperwork distributed by their children’s schools, and becoming exasperated at “rummaging in [their] son’s schoolbag for these forms, which would often have remnants of old banana and the like in there.”
Across the ParentPaperwork journey, they discovered that many schools currently think of their major software needs falling under two banners – that of the student management system (SIS or MIS) and the learning management system (LMS). However, there is a third category of software – a School Organisation System (SOS) – that replaces traditional burdens shouldered by administrators in schools, automating and streamlining the daily tasks of school life. That system is EdSmart.
“It has been statistically proven that student improvement is linked to teacher-student contact time and parent engagement. The education arena, as a whole, has tighter budgets year on year, which makes delivering student improvement targets exponentially difficult,” says Fiona Boyd. “The long-term solution is to embrace software that genuinely supports valuable teaching and reduces non-teaching staff time. EdSmart is the solution that meets that need.”
Under the name ParentPaperwork, EdSmart expanded into eight countries at over 400 schools. This new branding and refinement represents an opportunity for the EdSmart advantage to travel even further.
