Announcement Content:
A new test vehicle is driving around the streets of Perth, Western Australia with IMRâs Sentinel eCall safety device onboard.
The first of its kind in Australia, the Mitsubishi Lancer supplied by DVG Automotive Group has been fitted with the latest in eCall safety technology.
IMR Technologies have teamed up with DVG Automotive to trial and certify the IMR Sentinel eCall safety device for widespread use.
IMR Sentinel is designed to reduce emergency service response times by 50% by automatically detecting and alerting emergency services to the exact location and circumstances of a vehicle crash.
In the event of a serious crash., an instant alert is sent with the GPS location and vehicle particulars via the 000 emergency call network. A call is then made directly to the vehicle to check on the driver and passengers.
âWorking together with WAâs largest family owned car dealership is a huge opportunity for us,â IMRâs director Martyn Gilbert said.
âHaving a live device driving on the road everyday will help us gather invaluable data and speed up the certification of the Sentinel,â Mr Gilbert said.
Release of the first units for sale via car dealerships is slated for 2018 and IMR welcomes any organisations who are interested in vehicle beta trials to get in touch.
