Grandma Technology has just released the Apple iOS device version of its Margaret River Find the Fun App. This is the ultimate tourism guide for the Margaret River region of Western Australia. This is the first iOS App to be released by Grandma Technology, and joins the three Android apps the company supports. All Apps use a common App publishing software platform that can be reused to quickly and cheaply publish similar Apps for other regions and niches. The Apps have many innovative features such as the ability to work fully offline with excellent maps to ensure a lack of internet connectivity doesn't leave you lost and without information. About Grandma Technology:
We have developed a guidebook publishing App platform for Android and Apple devices. This platform is used to publish guidebook Apps. Any information that has a location component suits this platform. For example a tourism guide for a particular region, or a mountain biking or hiking trail guide.
Our Apps are very simple to use. They make it dead easy for users to find places and activities, and get to them. They are optimised for small phone screens and always work, even when you cannot connect to the internet. Our Apps incorporate excellent GPS-navigable offline maps, photos and content. The internet is used when available for updating content, linking to external websites and background services. Grandma Technology combines the best features of traditional printed guidebooks and modern websites and leaves behind the worst features. For printed guides, bad features such as being less portable, not easily updated and not supporting navigation. And for websites, bad features such as not working without internet connectivity, being slow, and not being good at giving information in the context of your exact current location.
Writing a guidebook can be as simple as giving us photos and a spreadsheet with the content. It’s cheap, simple and fast. Grandma Technology’s core value is to provide technology that is convenient and simple.
Grandma Technology currently has released three guidebook Apps. Although these Apps are fully monetised products, their main purpose is to demonstrate the technology and possibilities of the App software platform to potential customers who want to create their own Apps.
