Astron is pleased to announce the launch of a new analytical tool to help mining companies measure the success of their minesite rehabilitation.

The product, RPM (Rehabilitation Performance Metrics), uses remote sensing data captured using UAVs to assess a number of key attributes associated with successful minesite rehabilitation including landform geometry, landform stability and vegetation.
To deliver the analytics associated with RPM, Astron has chosen to partner with the Perth webmapping application company emapper (https://emapper.com.au/). Astron's Technical Director Julian Kruger commented that "emapper offers a great partnership arrangement for Astron to deliver our remote sensing analytics on a customised webmapping platform. Being focused on environmental data the team at emapper understand the nuances associated with delivering high quality and user friendly remote sensing data in a way that ensures our clients have access to the most meaningful and actionable information. The partnership is a perfect fit".
To date Astron has been successful in providing RPM as a service to a number of Goldfields operators as well as one of the large iron ore miners in the Pilbara.
