Astron is proud to have been recently featured in an article in TechRepublic, focuing on the use of drones in the Australian environmental market.

The recognition comes on the back of Astron's continued development of environmental focused applications for UAVs. This includes a world leading analytics platform for minesite rehabilitation monitoring (www.minerpm.com) and an automated shark detection system (www.sentinelvds.com.au).
On being included in the article Astron's Technical Director Julian Kruger stated that interest in environmental applications for UAVs is rapidly increasing.
"We're finding that more and more companies are coming to us now asking about how they can integrate UAVs into their current environmental projects" he said. "In the end though the UAV is a means to an end, with the data they capture and the analytics that can be produced being the real game changing element. We're only just seeing analytic applications come to fruition now, so in many respects their use in Australia, and in particular within the environmental sector, is still very much in its infancy".
